Sammy Kane. The unluckiest man alive? He was a respected Special Ops soldier, then demoted when he punched out the squad’s brand new Lieutenant, all because the Lieutenant tried to pull a gun on him. His actions were justified, but he was demoted; now assisting an investigative team looking at accounts. Then on leave, on behalf of her boyfriend, his sister gets him to run a car into the next state so she can sell it. He is arrested, the car is a stolen one, and he was set up by his sister’s boyfriend, Ralphy. Dishonorably discharged because of the charge, he then spends three years in jail for the crime. It rankled; it was a crime he didn’t do. He is now trying to build a new life as a car tuner, making already quick cars like Corvettes and Mustangs go insanely fast. Despite his life’s ups and downs, he’s thinks he’s winning. But the noise from the high-performance cars he’s tuned is upsetting the rich folks along the river road, and the police notice their homes are getting broken into during the noise. Then a young lady gets abducted out into a house’s garden shed, stripped and nearly raped, until she worked the gag out and screamed. The Police are now involved; they notice that all the noisy cars are tuned by Sammy and a simple check of Sammy’s record shows he is a convicted felon and spent three years inside.

They soon realize, that apart from building really fast cars, Sammy has nothing to do with the thefts or the attempted rape. But Sammy’s time is up. Now the ‘system’ knows his history, he will be targeted in the future; simply because of that past conviction, and moving on is now his only option.

But Sammy has masters who need more, much more. He has to contact the family of the girl that was nearly raped. But lady luck now lends a hand. The police let on to the girls family that Sammy looked uncomfortable when they described the masked attacker. Sammy seemed to know who they were talking about, and the girl’s father, determined to get to the truth, goes around to Sammy’s workshop to beat it out of him. He comes off second best, but Sammy gets to meet Helen and her mother, Shirly. A few days later Helen calls, tells him her and Shirly are leaving and had heard that he is leaving as well? He offers them bunks in his large campervan and they all leave together. Sammy to set up a new car tuning business somewhere over near Daytona on the East Coast, and Helen and Shirly just to be back with their family. It appears that it couldn’t get any more perfect and Sammy’s masters are delighted. He is just where they want him to be; embedded with the rich Howard family! But it is what they now want him to do, that counts!! But behind all that, Sammy knows the pervert that attacked Helen is now tracking them; he knows that guy from his time inside; he is a sadistic killer who will stop at nothing! Helen and Shirly are now bait!
